Union Berlin vs St. Pauli
|Union Berlin is in very good form at
this moment as the team has right
now 3 wins in a row in the league
and thanks to those wins they are
currently sitting in the top half of the
league table at this moment, this
while in their two games played at
home so far this season both of them
ended up with 4 goals scored, as
they won with 4-0 in their last game
at home against Karlsruher, and they
also drew this season with 2-2 at home
against the team of Dynamo Dresden
|they usually score a lot of goals when playing at home, but here in this game they are going to be playing against a strong St.Pauli side which can score goals here in this game themselves, and last season when St. Pauli came and played here at this stadium the game was one of the best last season had to offer in this league level in Germany, as it ended up in a 3-3 draw in the end, with both teams having a lot of scoring chances in that game there and scoring 3 goals both in the end, so my bet here in this game is going to be on over here in this game, and the odds are dropping for the over bets here in this game.|

Villarreal vs Osasuna
|Villarreal couldn’t probably do more in
their 1:1 draw away from home on
Wednesday evening against Real Madrid,
but everyone in the club will be happy
that the team managed to return without
losing such a game. After five rounds
played, Villarreal currently stands at
sixth position with four points less
than leaders from Real Madrid, but
still remaining undefeated with two
victories and three draws for now in
not that easy schedule for them for now.
|Real Madrid had more of the ball possession, but the players of Villarreal managed to defend themselves well in the first halftime, taking the lead from a penalty spot in 45th minute scored by Bruno, while even though Ramos managed to level up the result three minutes into the second halftime, home side didn’t manage to exploit the possession and chances they created later on. As for Villarreal, the team now comes back to their own turf and no doubt that the victory is their only target now, as the team is known for performing way better in front of own fans.
Hosts should be playing in 4-4-2 formation with Sansone and Pato as strikers. Offensive midfielder Cedric Bakambu and forward Roberto Soldado are both sidelined with injuries from the start of the season. No big surprises are expected in the team of Fran Escriba.Osasuna suffered yet another defeat last Thursday evening when the team welcomed Espanyol and stood defeated with a 1:2 result. However, it needs to be said that the players of Osasuna deserved much more during in this game, since they were way better and controlled the ball for ninety minutes, also created way more chances than the visiting side.
However, players of Espanyol were oriented on defensive approach and fast counter-attacks, which completely paid out for them this time. They took the lead in 42nd minute with a goal from Baptistao, while Leon leveled up the result in 68th minute. When everyone thought they will be now searching for whole three points, Espanyol responded four minutes later with a goal from Moreno and the home team was unable to react further on. Osasuna now stands at the bottom of the table with just two points earned and has no time to wait for, knowing that they can’t walk away with something away to Villarreal in case they only defend.
Visitors are set to be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Leon as their central striker, plus Romero, Torres and Cuevas as offensive midfielders. Midfielder Didier Digard is sidelined from the start of the season, but also absent for this match are: right defender Javier Flano (2/0), midfielder Fausto (2/0) and most likely central defender Miguel Flano (3/0) who still has some chances of recovering in time.
Villarreal are undefeated in their last 5 matches (La Liga).
Villarreal are undefeated since the start of LaLiga and the team remains favorite here. I believe we should see goals as well, since the defensive lineup of Osasuna is nowhere to be trusted. At the same time, the team acts as a bit more offensive than what we used to see from them in the previous seasons.

Swansea vs Man. City
|After their decent performance and a
point taken at home against Chelsea,
Swansea couldn’t continue in the
same manner and walk away with
something away to Southampton
last weekend. The team was mostly
limited to a passive role and did quite
little in attack, but weren’t able to
resist in the defense for the whole
game, conceding a goal in
64th minute, without further real
reply from the visiting side.
|It was their fourth game without a victory in Premier League, as they continue to be in the second part of the table with four points earned so far, just a point away from relegating worried sides, while European placed teams are already six points above before the start of this round. During the midweek they already played against the same opponent, losing the match of 1/16 finals phase of EFL Cup to Mancehster City 2:1 at home. Both teams performed with quite a rotated teams, but it was obvious that the Citizens have more quality and simply deeper roster.
The Swans should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Llorente as central striker, with Routledge and Barrow on the wings and Sigurdsson as central offensive midfielder. Manager Francesco Guidolin should be having only one injury worry ahead of this match and that would be right midfielder Nathan Dyer (1/0). Borja Baston started in previous game, but should now drop to the bench in placed of Fernando Llorente upfront.Manchester City, on the other side, is having perfect start in the new season, as the team record all five victories at the start and are already at the top of the table, with two points more than second placed Everton and four more than third placed Tottenham. In the most recent game of Premier League, the team showed impressive performance and fully deserved the three pointer in a 4:0 victory over Bournemouth at home.
De Bruyne, Iheanacho, Sterling and Gundogan were the goalscorers in a match where it was obvious that the opponents are having class difference. The team is now surely morale boosted and want to continue winning in order to keep the first position and detach from their closest followers. During the midweek they recorded their nineth consecutive victory in all competitions, wining over this opponent with 2:1 result, thanks to goals from Clichy and Garcia.
Visitors from Manchester should be lined up in 4-1-4-1 formation with Aguero as striker and Sterling, Sane, Gundogan and Bruyne as offensive midfielders behind him. Sergio Aguero is back now after three matches suspension and should replace Kelechi Iheanacho as their first striker. Midfielder Yaya Toure was suspended by the club and will not be playing here, while suspended is also offensive Nolito (5/2) who was red carded in their victory over Bournemouth. Midfielders Fabian Delph and David Silva are both doubtful, while central defender Vincent Kompany stays short of fitness.
We’ve seen three goals between these two teams just days ago and I believe Premiership clash will be even more intense, with even more offensive phases from both sides. Citizens should enter the game strongly and in offensive way, which should open up the game again. I definitely see three goals being scored here again.

Troyes vs Tours
|Troyes didn’t manage to get all three points
couple of days ago when the team visited
Nimes and stood to a 2:2 draw even though
they were leading till the last moments of
additional time. It was a very interesting
game where the guests stood playing with
a man less in 44th minute when forward
Grandsir was excluded, worth to be said,
they also missed a penalty kick in fifteenth
minute and failed to take the lead.
Second halftime was even more interesting,
with the home team taking the
lead in 52nd minute via Briancon.
|Niane leveled up the scoreline in 63rd minute from a penalty kick, while the same player completely overturn the result in 79th minute with the home team staying also with a man less when midfielder Savanier got excluded two minutes later. Everything looked like Troyes will get all three points, but the team conceded a goal in fourth minute of additional time via Ripart – must be said, final result was somewhat fair this time. After this draw, Troyes remained at the second part of the table with three points more than relegating worried sides.
Hosts continue to miss defenders Mory Kone and Rincon, who anyway didn’t perform so far for the team, but they also can’t count at defendeer Johan Martial (5/1) and suspended forward Samuel Grandsir (6/0).Tours, on the other side, is having a really poor start into the new season as the team has only one victory out of first eight matches and doesn’t look that competitive overall on the field. They didn’t look that great in previous season as well and the team needs to worried regarding their status in case the team doesn’t improve soon enough. In the most recent game, they suffered 0:2 defeat at home to Bourg Peronnas last Tuesday evening, being unable to resist the opponent in the latter phase of the match.
The game itself was quite equal, but the visiting side showed much more fighting spirit and determination towards the end, scoring two goals via Boussaha in last fifteen minutes, without the hosts being able to respond later on. With 1-3-4 record in Ligue 2, the team is currently just a point away from rock bottom placed Niort and needs to improve. They are capable of scoring, no doubt about that, however the team concedes with ease, being currently the worst defensive lineup with fifteen goals conceded for now.
Visiting side won’t be counting at important defenders Jonathan Gradit (6/0), Florian Miguel (7/0) and Cyriaque Louvion (5/1), plus goalkeeper Bingourou Kamara who anyway didn’t perform so far.
With three consecutive defeats for Tours, I don’t see the visiting team responding here in a better manner. Players of Troyes surely have what it takes in order to get all three points here, but overall, I believe the game will be open from both ends as well, so goals here shouldn’t be surprise. Troyes alone might be capable of scoring three. Odds are more than valuable in my opinion.

Stromsgodset vs Valarenga
|Stromsgodset continued their current
horrible period with loosing against
14th placed Aalesund (4-2) last
Sunday. It looked promising when
Stromsgodset took the lead already
one minute into the game, but things
went downhill from that point and out.
Aalesund is in a desperate situation
and it was clear that the players knew
that they had to win. They equalized
only 11 minutes after the 0-1 goal and
kept the score until halftime. The game
changed completely character during
the second half though as Aalesund
looked dangerous each time
they decided to attack.
|Stromsgodset tried to answer by setting an offensive line in order to put pressure on Aalesund as well, but it did not succeed that well. Aalesund took the lead with a quick goal after 51 minutes, before Stromsgodset got a penalty three minutes later. Goal scorer Kristoffer Tokstad was the man to take it, but he missed and it became the turning point for his club. Aalesund was experiencing a flow now and scored 3-1 after 61 minutes.
Their captain, Bjorn Helge Riise, made the evening perfect with his brilliant 4-1 goal only twelve minutes later. Stromsgodset was blown away in this match in terms of being effective and only got the last goal after a penalty was awarded to them in the 89th minute. Stromsgodset has fallen like a rock on the table over the last month and they are now in 8th place with 35 points.Valerenga has experienced quite the opposite development to their season compared to tonight’s opponent. A terrible row at the beginning of the season made them struggle in the bottom three teams for a long time in the start of the season. The sudden change came after the club decided to present their plans for the staff next season. The club desperately needed something new and it landed on Ronny Deila as the new coach for next season. The current coach Kjetil Rekdal will then become the sport director.
That statement left the players with a much easier focus for the remaining season; to keep the club in Tippeligaen and be ready for a new start next season. The results have been magnificent as the club is on a unbeaten row since mid-July with 5-3-0 to show for. Their recent match against Haugesund (1-1) was one of the most difficult away games this season. It became a match with chances both ways and a real test of patience against another in-form team. Haugesund was the far better team as it turned out, but Valerenga kept their calm in order to strike at the perfect moment and getting a point back home. Haugesund took the lead after 32 minutes, but struggled to get the second goal even if they produced more chances in the second half.
Valerenga was therefore invited into the game and became more dangerous after 70 minutes had been played. After 75 minutes, Valerenga got their only chance that they had been waiting for. The team was executing a textbook attacking play and it ended with a left-hand cross being put into the net by Ghayas Zahid. The important point extended Valerenga’s undefeated row, but they have to take more points in order to not falling back into relegation zone that is six points beneath them. Some great news in front of this match is that winger Daniel Fredheim Holm (17/1) and midfielder Magnus Lekven (6/0) are included in the squad after dealing with injuries.
It is really two teams with different form curves that clashes together after a long season at this point. They recently met in the league 11 days ago with the result of 1-1. It was an open game with offensive minded teams involved and a great atmosphere. The fact that it is the quarterfinal in the cup makes it extra special. The home fans are known for creating a great atmosphere during home games and so are the fans from Valerenga.
The distance between these two cities is not big at all which means that both teams will get great support tonight. I think that it will be another open game with a home side interested in showing better qualities against an in-form team that seems to have forgotten how it is too loose at the moment. Both teams to score are therefore my obvious choice here.

Lyon vs Montpellier
|Lyon will host Montpellier in the match
of the 6th round of French League 1.
After two poor performances against
Dijon and Bordeaux Lyon managed
to show much better play against
Dinamo Zagreb in Champinos league
where they won 3-0 and also were
better side in a match against
Marseille where they played 0-0.
So I think they could continue with
good play and make a
good result in this game too.
|Defeat from Bordeaux is the only Lyon’s defeat at home in last 16 matches where they have a great record of 13-2-1. They look very confident when they play at home ground so I expect their win here.
Montpellier is not in a good form, they started this season beating Angers 1-0, but after that they haven’t won in next 4 matches. It is interesting that they had a lead in all of their 5 league matches so far, but managed to win only in one. Anyway they have not impressed me with their play, while they are very poor in away matches where they haven’t won in last 5 games. So I think this will be a very tough match for them and I doubt they could avoid defeat.

Fredrikstad vs Strommen
|Fredrikstad put a lot of money in both
new players and a new coach before
this season. Jan Halvor Halvorsen left
his position in Tippeligaen as the
coach for Bodo/Glimt in order to take
Fredrikstad up to new heights.
However, it did not go according to
plan at all as Fredrikstad struggled
at the very bottom all season until
he got sacked in August. In stepped
another highly experienced coach
who lost his job in Start earlier this
season. Mons Ivar Mjelde took
immediate actions with his philosophy
and set a new spark in
his group of players.
|The results changed over the night and Fredrikstad is now in 12th place with 28 points. However, it is still only a better goal difference than 13th placed Ranheim that keeps them above the relegation zone, but the club is on a row with 3-2-0 under Mjelde’s leadership so far. Their only way out is to continue their home form and taking points from their away games.
Their last match against Hodd (2-2) was a bump in the road though, even if they secured an important point away from home. Fredrikstad performed well and led the game twice, but they let Hodd back in too easy on both occasions. However, Fredrikstad continues to produce goals which have been a major problem earlier. The club must focus on getting points on a regular basis and 3-0-0 at home combined with 0-2-0 away since Mjelde took over are just the path that Fredrikstad need to follow in the remaining games.
Strommen has done a really great season so far as they have the 7th place on the table with 38 points in 24 games. It is definitely been the most stable season for Strommen in a long time with a total 10-8-6 to show for. They have always had their main strength at home, which is also the case in this season (7-4-1), but the key is that more points have been captured away from home this season (3-4-5) copared to earlier. However, they are often involved in high scoring matches and especially during their away games with 25 conceded goals in 12 games. Their last away game against Raufoss (4-5) was a great example of that, while their last match against Mjondalen (0-0) at home was a whole different story.Strommen is usually involved in high scoring games at home as well, but this time it became a rather close match. Neither of the two teams were able to produce any major threats, and it all came down to both teams being satisfied with one point in the end. It was a clear exception from Strommen’s usual pattern as lots of chances both ways describes their home games; exemplified by their previous home games against KFUM Oslo (2-1), Ranheim (2-1), Levanger (2-1), Raufoss (4-0) and Sandnes Ulf (3-1). It was also a result that kept on the pressure on Strommen as Mjondalen was only one point behind them. With Mjondalen beating Ranheim yesterday (6-2), they also overtook over the 6th place, but Strommen could take it back if they win tonight. Defender Pal Steffen Andresen (14/0) and striker Madiou Konate (8/1) are injured, while midfielder Mathias Blarud (19/2) is suspended.
In my opinion, this match should really be entertaining with two teams in good form at the moment. Mjelde has made his team feel unbeatable with the most perfect timing so late into the season. At the same time, Fredrikstad must keep up in order to stay over the relegation line. Strommen is also fighting in the other end of the table and can retake the 6th place which gives playoff to Tippeligaen. They are also heading into this match with self-confidence as they are unbeaten from their recent five games (3-2-0). It is likely for both teams to score tonight, but both teams needs all three points. I therefore think that over 2.5 goals should be a good pick as it will be an open match.

Monaco vs Rennes
|Monaco is having close to a perfect start in
the new season, as the team currently
holds the first position with three
victories and a draw for now. That draw
came in the first round against Guingamp,
while almost all players of Monaco are
looking better and better as the season
progresses and could be one of the
surprises this season in title race.
Later on they went to beat Nantes
and PSG and in the most recent
domestic game, have completely
outplayed Lille away from
home 4:1 last weekend.
|Also, the team not only earned position in Champions League group stage with a win over Villarreal in play-off round, but have also surprised many with away victory over Tottenham on Wednesday evening 2:1 in London. Confidence of the players is boosted a lot now, that’s for sure.
Monaco should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Germain as central striker, but also with Traore, Silva and Lemar as offensive midfielders. Offensive midfielder Nabil Dirar was forced off in a game against Tottenham with a calf injury and his participation is unlikely now. Benjamin Mendy is still doubtful, so the position of right back should get Fabinho this time out. Falcao should be given some rest at first, but the players will almost surely step in, especially if needed. Adama Traore is back to full fitness and could also start. Defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko (4/0) is doubtful.Rennes, on the other side, comes from a 2:0 victory over Caen last weekend, well fought and deserved three pointer where their players have showed a lot of determination. The game itself, was quite equal, balanced one, but the players of Rennes looked more determined in attack and what’s most important, but more efficient.
They took the lead in 47th minute via Said and while the visitors tried to find a way and respond, hosts sealed the victory in second minute of additional time with a goal from Prcic. It was their second victory in the season, both earned at home where they play way better in comparison to a defeat away to Nice and a point taken on the road against Montepellier.
Visitors from Rennes are set to play in 4-4-2 formation with Sio and Gourcuff as strikers. Midfielder Clement Chantome (1/0) won’t be playing anymore this year, now being out with a shoulder injury. Offensive midfielder Kamil Grosicki (2/0) will most likely play with reserve team, so Pedro Henrique has a chance to start on the right wing.
Monaco are undefeated in 17 of their last 18 home matches (Ligue 1).
Monaco is enjoying great start of the season and are looking as red hot favorites to me in this match after their victory on the road against Tottenham Hotspur in Champions League. Momentum is completely on their side and even though the manager decides to rest couple of players, I still believe the home team has what it takes in order to prevail here.
